Royal Taxi of Toronto Purchases $1.6 Million
Dispatch System
Richmond, BC, December 30, 2004 - Digital Dispatch
Systems Inc. (TSX: DD) has strengthened its presence in the Toronto
taxi market through a new contract with Royal Taxi Inc of Toronto,
Ontario, worth approximately CDN $1.6 million. Under this contract,
Royal Taxi will purchase over 500 iPilot 8000 mobile computers along
with SmartPay debit card payment system, SmartPrint in vehicle
printer, and communication infrastructure from Digital Dispatch.
The Windows, CE-based iPilot 8000 mobile computer with
navigation is going to give us a competitive edge in the market for
sure." Said Spiros Bastas, General Manager for Royal Taxi.
"We will be able to response to our customers even faster with
this GPS-based dispatch system, and also continue to offer enhanced
customer service with in-vehicle debit and credit cart payment
options, Mr. Bastas stated."
This contract strengthens our presence in the Toronto
taxi market specifically, and the East Coast of North America in
general, said Michael Hryb, Vice President of Sales for Digital
Dispatch. "Royal Taxi is by far our biggest customer in the
Toronto region. Once again, the benefits and low risk of the Digital
Dispatch's solution has proved to be the determining factor in the
decision by Royal Taxi."
Royal Taxi joins the growing list of taxi companies in
Ontario who are using Digital Dispatch's solution. Others include All
Star Tax of Mississauga, Veteran Cab of Windsor, United Taxi of
Kitchener, Waterloo Taxi of Waterloo and You Need a car of London.
